Your partners read the report
AT&T and Ooma run their partner programs on Unifyr. In an agent channel, the commission report is the document your partners judge you on.
The sub-agent meets the customer, and the TSD rarely does
Sub-agent
Who meets the customer: Almost always them
What they read first: The commission statement
Where conflict starts: A second agent on the same site
What the record has to carry: Its TSD affiliation
TSD
Who meets the customer: Rarely, and by exception
What they read first: Bench performance across agents
Where conflict starts: Two of its agents competing
What the record has to carry: Which agents are certified
Direct
Who meets the customer: Sometimes, alongside the agent
What they read first: Their own quota
Where conflict starts: A registration it never saw
What the record has to carry: Whose registration is live
The contract and the customer sit with different companies
- Aggregates many smaller agents and carries the carrier relationship on their behalf. In practice you contract with it and the selling is done by companies whose names are not on that contract.
- Sells under a master agent's paper and is usually the party the customer actually meets. Whether you can see it at all depends on whether anything in your systems records who it is.
- The larger, modern form of the master agent: a distributor of connectivity and cloud services with a bench of agents behind it. The agent's own record names the TSD it is affiliated with.
- Pays every month the customer keeps the service rather than once at signature. It makes the commission statement the document the relationship is judged on.
Ask which TSD the agent came through
The assistant reads the same agent record the commission report does, so it can name the TSD an agent came through and what that TSD's bench of agents is earning.
Sign-in happens in your browser, so there is no token to issue or rotate, and the assistant reaches only the data your own account already reaches.

Each agent sees only its own commissions
Can a master agent see the commissions of its sub-agents?
No, and it is worth being plain about it. Partner accounts do not nest, and the commission report shows the signed-in partner its own payments. What the platform does hold is the affiliation on each agent's record, so you can read a TSD's bench yourself even though the TSD cannot read it here. Master agent.
How do we know which TSD an agent came through?
It is a field on the agent's profile and one of the filters in Partner Explorer, so the question is a filter rather than a spreadsheet somebody maintains. Groups built on it can carry their own content, pricebook and plan.
Does the portal show residuals or only new orders?
The commission report is a payment history: payment date, amount, the customer account and the deal it belongs to, filtered by month and year and exportable. An agent checking what arrived last month does not have to ask anyone. Commission.
Two agents bring us the same site. What happens?
The first registration holds and the second sees that the site is taken, which is the only version of this that survives contact with the agents afterwards. The rule lives on the registration rather than in a channel manager's memory. Rules of engagement.
Can agents quote from the portal?
They can reach the pricebook their partner group entitles them to, which is what keeps a mid-market agent out of the enterprise price list. Quoting itself stays wherever your order path already runs.
What an agent program runs on
Registration before the site survey
One record holds who registered, what was approved, and when protection ends.
Reward the step before revenue
A residual pays for years; the behavior that earned it happens in a week.
Many types, one program
Agents, MSPs and integrators on one set of rules rather than three.
